Union Jack Converse Trainers by artist Martin Allen
I’m so excited to share this piece with you! I’ve been working on it for over a year now, and I’m finally ready to show it off! This painting was inspired by my love of old sneakers, and the fact that I wear them all day long every day. They’re comfortable, durable, and just plain cool. I wanted to capture that feeling in a painting. I hope you enjoy it too! 🙂
The third in a series of worn out Chuck Taylor Union Jack Converse Trainers. Converse Campbells, Stars n Stripes and Ukrainian All Stars already sold…So here it is…’Jack!’ 24″ x 36″ Oil on canvas… About the artist Martin Allen is a London based artist. Martin came to oil painting through a circuitous route, having drawn for most of his life and being largely self-taught he was eventually re-introduced to oil painting as a preferred medium to create his varied and diverse work. The methods he uses to paint are classic ones, using layered paint applications rounded off by oil glazes. These create, add depth and harmonise colours. He has shown solo numerous times at Goodwood, The Affordable Art Fair and others, been a finalist at the ‘London art Biennale 2019′, alongside various commissions including work for the BP Shipping collection, and most recently Vogue magazine.
